The SALT work plan includes ten tasks:

Task 1: Stakeholder involvement

this task aims at introducing the project to stakeholders, sharing their needs and securing active involvement through consultation.

Task 2: Data collection, monitoring campaign and GIS implementation

this action concerns all the activities related to collect existing data, execution of monitoring campaigns and implementation of a GIS system.

Task 3: Costruction and calibration of the hydro geological model (aquifer + river watershed)

the integrated model of the river watershed and aquifer will be built and calibrated.

Task 4: Identification of meteorological time series under IPCC climate change scenarios

the main objective of this action is to make available meteorological and marine series from 1950 to 2030 through reliable climate evolution simulations and scenarios of the 20th and 21st centuries of the Mediterranean region

Task 5: Simulation of salt intrusion under present and future scenario considering climate change (impact analysis) and definition of remediation actions

with this task all possible actions to prevent and/or retard salt intrusion will be assessed and validated by integrated simulations with the mathematical models

Task 6: Development and application of a Regional Risk Assessment procedure to support the aquifer management

the aim of this action is to develop a spatially-resolved risk assessment procedure, supporting the assessment of actual and future climatic scenarios for the Esino river basin and thus providing a tool which can be used to evaluate the impact of different management options on the quality and quantity of the groundwater.

Task 7: Project Monitoring

this action aims at measuring and documenting the effectiveness of the projects actions as compared to the initial situation, and control that the expected project objectives and results are being met.

Task 8: Project dissemination

through set of dissemination actions (website development, publicity materials production, events organisation) the project will lay the basis for future technology transfer and replication to analogous contexts.

Task 9: Project management

the task will facilitate achievement of project expected results and ensure meeting project objectives.

Task 10: Audit

the task aims at ensuring the respect of national legislation and accounting rules and of the LIFE+ Common Provisions.
